This circuit has been used by many musicians and artists worldwide, from controlling machines at Burning Man (though I take no responsibility when you’re controlling pyro with MIDI!), to Lego Player Harpsichords.

One interesting use was by Elliot Earls of The Apollo Program at the Cranbrook Academy of Art to control a “drone” guitar via MIDI.
